Christmas in Seattle....

'Twas not unlike Christmas in Dublin with a definite feeling of merry-ment in the air. Did I spell that right? The only differences being public transport runs as normal and people weren't stocking up on Christmas eve as if the end is nigh!

We went over to our friends' house, Dave and Jenny, and shared a superb dinner with yet more friends. After the kids being awake at 6 a.m., untold amounts of sugar being pumped into their brains, limits were reached by 8 and we were home by 9. I think next year we're going to have Christmas at home - Muirenn prefers it that we, she says.

Happy Christmas!

Taz This friendly little fello is the king of the 'hood in our neck of Ballard. He hangs in the park with the kids who quite literally sit on him, He just never seems to mind. Above, he is drinking from the water fountain in the kids park. He bathes in it during the summer. Lovely.

Jolly Roger Ale

Well folks there are ales and there are beers but there is only one Jolly Roger, an ale so strong that no bar well sell you more than three. This locally brewed liquid dynamite contains many of the ingredients found in the cough syrup Jagermyster - it's literally hallucinogenic. Jolly Roger blooms in the month of December just as the days become permanently dark, grey and wet. When all other things are dead, the wicked pirate keeps many a hardy Seattle-ite pissed as a newt until March when either the sun pops out for a morning or the stock of Jolly Roger has all gone. Handy for me so that this cloudy black mystery ale is brewed just down the street in Ballard. This weeks mission - Four.

What's that stench?

Oh yes, stinky old blog... rotting away in the webs darkest nook and cranny... Took the dog for a walk today and saw salmon committing suicide up a stream. Put's it all in perspective really. Too much perspective.
